We would
like to share with you what we have been working on recently by highlighting
some of our recent, new instructions.
James Lee
has been instructed to:
- Prepare a building contract for a local council who is developing a community sports stadium. The contract value is approximately £18 million.
- Issue a variety of new appointments for a major shopping centre relating to various refurbishment projects, including a larger redevelopment of the common parts at the centre of approximately £8 million in value.
Nitej
Davda has been instructed on an a matter relating to the insolvency of a
contractor during some major refurbishment works at an historic World War II
site. Nitej has also been instructed to advise an employer following a
letter from a local council flagging breaches of listed building and planning
consent by their contractor.
I have
recently received instructions to advise on a number of matters including:
- Advising an employer on a claim for a variation (and possible delay claim) made by the contractor during works including the demolition of an old out building. The contractor has discovered asbestos that was not reported in a survey carried out by the employer prior to contract formation.
- Advising a contractor who has not been paid in accordance with the Scheme for Constructions Contracts for the past two months and wanted to understand its options relating to termination and suspension.
